(From the Springfield Police Department)On May 17, 2021, at approximately 12:37 a.m., the Springfield Police Department was dispatched to 3231 W. Page Street due to a check the well-being call.
When officers arrived, they located a deceased male on the property who had suffered gunshot wounds.
The deceased person has been identified as James R. Kenney, a 41-year-old white male from Springfield, MO. Next of kin notifications have been made to Mr. Kenney’s family. A suspect has not been identified at this time.
Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).
This incident marks the ninth homicide for 2021.
