Highway Patrol announces results of safety operation in Greene, Lawrence counties

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a three-day Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program SAFETE operation in Greene and Lawrence counties on May 28-30, 2018.

During the operation in Greene County on May 28, troopers stopped 11 commercial vehicles and 10 passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted eight commercial vehicle inspections. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Felony Drug Arrests -- 2
Misdemeanor Drug Arrest -- 1
Speed Violations --3
Seat Belt Violations -- 3

Troopers also issued 24 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.

During the operation in Greene County on May 29, troopers stopped nine commercial vehicles and six passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted eight commercial vehicle inspections. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Non-Moving Violation -- 1
Speed Violation -- 1
Seat Belt Violations --2

Troopers also issued 20 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.


During the operation in Lawrence County on May 30, troopers stopped 18 commercial vehicles and 16 passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 16 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in two drivers and one vehicle being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.
