McDaniel Street between South Avenue and Robberson Avenue will be closed Monday, June 9 through Friday, June 27 for utility work associated with a streetscape project. Motorists are advised to use the marked detour via South Avenue, Park Central East, and Jefferson Avenue. The sidewalk in this area will also be closed along McDaniel Street during the construction. McDaniel Street is scheduled to reopen to traffic on Friday, June 27, weather permitting.
This project – funded through the 1/4-Cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax – will continue the streetscape improvements on McDaniel Street as well as pedestrian enhancements on Robberson Avenue. The project will include the construction of sidewalks, lighting, and gas and water main relocations. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of November.
