(From the Springfield Police Department)On January 30, 2022, at approximately 1:23 a.m., Springfield Police Officers responded to a 911 call for an assault in the parking lot of Rumors Cabaret at 1750 S. Glenstone Avenue. When officers arrived, they located a male who had suffered life-threatening injuries. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
On February 20, 2022, the victim, identified as Jeffrey K. Brent, 37, from Springfield, Missouri, succumbed to his injuries. Notifications have been made to Brent’s family.
During the investigation, the Springfield Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit identified a suspect in this case, but no arrest has been made at this time.
Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).
This incident marks the third homicide in Springfield for 2022.
