This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited tornado risk.
  Limited hail risk.
  Elevated thunderstorm wind damage risk.
  Limited flooding risk.
  Significant lightning risk.
  Elevated non thunderstorm wind risk.
  Extreme freeze risk.

DISCUSSION...

Severe storms will be possible later this afternoon across
southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri. The primary severe
weather hazard will be large hail to the size of ping pong balls
and damaging thunderstorm wind gusts exceeding 60 MPH. A tornado
or two cannot be ruled out, but the threat is less than it is for
hail and wind.

Thunderstorm activity will initialize around 1 PM across
southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri. Storms will gradually
move eastward by evening and should exit the Ozarks just before
midnight.

Surface winds will become strong behind the cold front later this
evening with gusts between 45-55 MPH likely.

Much colder temperatures will filter into the region tonight
behind the cold front. Locations across southeast Kansas and
southwest Missouri will experience a hard freeze sub-freezing
temperatures for multiple hours early Monday morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Elevated fire weather conditions are expected on Monday.

Below normal temperatures will result in additional potential for
frosts and freezes on a nightly basis from Tuesday morning
through Wednesday morning.

southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri.
