A Conway man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 10:15 a.m. on private property off Starvey Creek Road three miles south of Conway.
According to the Highway Patrol report, James O. Burgess, 91, Conway, driving a John Deere tractor, struck a rope hanging between two trees.
Burgess was pronounced dead at 10:52 a.m. at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.
The fatality was the 58th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
