On Friday, 34-year-old Joshua R. Gilley, originally of Alabama, was found guilty of second degree assault of a special victim for an assault that took place in the Greene County Jail on December 12, 2017.
Gilley became combative during the booking process and was being escorted to a hold over cell when he punched Detention Officer, Cpl. Kruger, in the face.
Cpl. Kruger required medical attention and was transported to the hospital.
Sentencing for Gilley will be on February 28, 2020.
