During 2017, the Springfield Fire Department engaged more than 40,000 citizens through their community education efforts. Details highlighting the Department's yearlong efforts to serve and engage Springfield citizens are available in the Springfield Fire Department's 2017 Community Engagement Report.
Along with details on public education efforts, the Community Engagement Report highlights successes of Project RED Zone, the Department's Community Risk Reduction program aimed at reducing home fires, fire-related injuries and fatalities. It also highlights other notable events from the year, including partnerships with Missouri State University, Springfield Public Schools, American Red Cross and more.
