Springfield Police searching for missing, endangered woman

The Springfield Police Department is asking for the public's assistance to locate 33-year-old Jamie Taylor.

Taylor is a white female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 195 pounds, has dark brown hair and brown eyes. Taylor has tattoos on the right side of her neck, right arm and right forearm.

Taylor was last believed to be in the company of her boyfriend, 27-year-old Jericho Lewis.

Anyone with information concerning Jamie Taylor's whereabouts should call 911 or Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).

Rogersville man seriously injured in motorcycle crash on Parch Corn Road

A Rogersville man was injured in a one-vehicle crash 3:45 p.m. Sunday on Parch Corn Road, six miles south of Rogersville.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2005 Suzuki Kingquad driven by Andrew R. Miller, 36, Rogersville, failed to negotiate a curve and overturned.

Miller was treated for serious injuries at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.

Lampe woman flown to Mercy Springfield, two children injured in crash on 13

Three people were injured in a one-vehicle crash 12:05 p.m. today on MO 13, three miles south of Kimberling City.

According to the Highway Patrol report, Patricia M. Ortiz, 30, Lampe, driving a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder, failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the left side of the roadway and the vehicle overturned.







Ortiz was flown to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, to be treated for serious injuries.

A one-year-old boy was taken to Mercy with minor injuries.

A seven-year-old boy was taken to Cox Hospital, Branson, with minor injuries.

Public Works will close the outside northbound lane of National Avenue between Meadowmere Street and Loren Street beginning 6 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 3 through 7 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5 for street repairs.

Major Traffic Pattern Changes Coming Week of Nov. 4 on Railroad Crossing Upgrades in Aurora

Drivers can expect major traffic pattern changes and be prepared to find alternate routes beginning the week of November 4 as progress is made on a project to improve railroad crossing safety in Aurora, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will close Lawrence County Route K (Elliott Avenue) at the railroad crossing for a period of time and once that work is complete will close Missouri Route 39 for a time to install a new box culvert.

Here’s a look at the upcoming traffic impacts:

Thursday, Nov. 7 – Contractor crews will CLOSE Route K (Elliott Avenue) at the railroad crossing between Olive Street and Mill Street for up to six days to complete crossing improvements, including sidewalks, pedestrian gates, asphalt and median barrier

Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the road closure

There will be no signed detour, drivers are urged to find alternate routes

Wednesday, Nov. 13 – Once Route K reopens, Missouri Route 39 will CLOSE near Carnation Drive for up to two weeks while the contractor installs a new culvert at Chat Creek and connect Route 39 to the new bridge over the BNSF tracks, including installing guardrail, final paving and striping
Drivers will be directed along a signed detour using Route K and Route FF to avoid the work zone

The contractor intends to have all traffic open and restored to normal patterns by Thanksgiving. However, weather and/or scheduling issues may alter the work schedule.

The work is all part of a larger project to improve railroad crossing safety in Aurora including building a new railroad bridge on Route 39, improving the cross on Route K (Elliott Avenue) and closing rail crossings on Morgan and McNatt Avenues.

Once the project is completed and all of the crossing improvements are made, the City of Aurora will apply to the Federal Railroad Administration to establish a quiet zone which means trains will no longer sound their warning horns while traveling between Route 39 and Elliot Avenue in Aurora.

The Springfield Police Department is asking for the public's assistance to locate 18-year-old Destiny Marie Phil.

Phil is a white female. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall, 203 pounds, has orange/brown/blonde hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with "Alabama Roll Tide" on it.

Phil suffers from multiple personality disorder, manic depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. She also has a diminished mental capacity and is suicidal. She left her residence without her medication and is more aggressive towards others when she is not taking her medication.

She was last seen at 2123 N. Newton around 6:00 AM on Oct. 31, 2019.
