(From the Springfield Police Department)On June 11, at 1:10 a.m., officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to a vehicle crash at Chestnut Expressway and Cedarbrook Avenue.
Charles Crowder, 61, from Springfield, was driving a Chevrolet Colorado westbound on Chestnut Expressway approaching Cedarbrook Avenue.
A Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Dallas Morris, 26, from Springfield, was traveling southbound on Cedarbrook Avenue. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, and the Chevrolet Colorado struck a utility pole.
Crowder was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased at the hospital. Crowder’s family has been notified.

This was Springfield’s 10th fatal motor vehicle crash in 2024.
