On March 2, 2020, at 8:04 A.M, Springfield Police were dispatched to 3656 South Fort regarding a female victim who was not breathing.
When officers arrived, they found the victim deceased inside the home and it appeared she had been physically assaulted. The suspect, who lived in the home with the victim, was detained at that time.
The victim was identified as Tammy D. Colbert, a 54-year-old female from Springfield. Next of kin notifications have been made.

Officers arrested John J. Schuck, a 55-year-old male from Springfield. Schuck was originally arrested for First Degree Domestic Assault. Due to information obtained during the ongoing investigation and the completion of the autopsy, charges of Second Degree Murder, Second Degree Domestic Assault and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm were presented to the Greene County Prosecutor. Schuck is currently being held in the Greene County Jail.
