Springfield man charged with DWI after crash injures four, including serious injuries to 6-year-old girl

A Springfield man was charged with driving while intoxicated and three felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child following a one-vehicle injury accident 7:50 p.m. Wednesday on CC Highway, 1.5 miles north of Marshfield.

According to the Highway Patrol report, Aaron K. Southerland, 28, Springfield, driving a 2004 Lincoln Aviator, slid on wet pavement on a curve and overturned ejecting his xix-year-old daughter Kyla, who was taken to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, to be treated for serious injuries.







Another passenger, Danielle N. Grief, 29, Springfield, was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy, while two other passengers, Liam J. Southerland, 5, and Valencia Southerland, 4, were treated for minor injuries at Mercy.

The driver was not injured, according to the report.

Southerland was also cited for possession of marijuana.
