Highway Patrol promotes Willard native to new post

Captain Christopher S. Jolly, director of the Criminal Justice Information Services Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, announces the following promotion effective July 7, 2019:

Mr. Jeffrey D. Reece has been promoted to assistant director of the Criminal Justice Information Services Division.

Reece joined the Patrol on May 1, 2001, as an AFIS operator in the same division. While serving in CJIS Division, he was promoted to AFIS supervisor on July 1, 2005, CJIS program manager on February 14, 2008, and manager of application development on May 1, 2017. 

In his role as an assistant director, Reece will have direct oversight of the Application Development and Enterprise System Administration units.








Assistant Director Reece grew up in Willard, MO, and graduated from Willard High School in 1999. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice information from Columbia College in Columbia, MO, in 2004. 

Reece earned his Master of Business Administration from Baker College-Center for Graduate Studies in Flint, MI, in 2006. In 2010, the Patrol named Reece its Civilian Employee of the Year. He has been recognized twice through his work with the MACHS Implementation Team and accepted a Governor’s Award for Quality and Productivity in 2011 and 2015. 

Assistant Director Reece and his wife, Maria (Strobel), have three children, Gavin, Brooklyn, and Maxton.
