Springfield woman shot, remains in critical condition, suspect arrested

Springfield police were dispatched to the 500 block of East Cherry at 12:26 a.m. on July 1 in reference to a shots fired call.

A female victim was located shortly after and was transported to Mercy with life threatening injuries. She was identified as Misty Hill, 36, of Springfield, and remains in critical condition. Her family has been notified.

The suspect was identified as Joseph Slagley, 21, of Springfield. He was located and arrested in Springfield at approximately 8:30 this morning. A probable cause statement is being prepared and the case will be sent to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for review today.
